PASIV's Desert Revegetation Project (DIRT) is Underway
DIRT: Desert Indolent Revegetation Theory
When we think of the desert, we think of drought, heat, death, and most of all, the remarkable and disturbing lack of foliage. It hasn't always been like that, however. Scientists say just as short as a few million years ago deserts might have supported a wide number of plant species. PASIV, with its rapidly growing number of members and a new chlorophilia sweeping the nation, has decided to bring back plants to the desert.
Our plan is simple: plant what we can and let nature handle the rest. We plan on introducing some seeds and plants to the desert and soon, with a little luck and some skilled workers, we hope to restore the desert to its once-green glory.
According to our scientists, here is a conservative prediction on the effect DIRT will have on the desert's ecosystem:
